Free School Visits

Essex Wildlife Trust are offering of free KS1 & KS2 school visits to Abbotts Hall Farm, Essex Wildlife Trust’s working farm between Colchester and Maldon.

 

The workshop on offer is ‘Food Production and Wildlife – Friends or Foes?’ and is a whole day visit for one class incorporating orienteering, Organic farming debate, farming food webs and making/cooking and eating flatbreads from wheat grains.

Hornchurch Country Park

The site has a wealth of World War I and II local history as the area was a former military airfield. There are good opportunities for river studies on the River Ingrebourne too, with safe access points to carry out a range of data gathering activities.
