You can make a real difference for wildlife this year and receive an Award for doing it! If you are a school, business, individual or any organisation that is already making a difference for wildlife in Essex, or would like to make a difference for your local wildlife - why not apply for the Living Landscapes or Living Seas Award?

Aim of the Essex Wildlife Trust Living Landscapes and Living Seas Awards:

These two new, annual awards publicly recognise organisations, individuals, businesses and groups in Essex who are helping to deliver Living Landscapes and Living Seas, which are national initiatives, led by The Wildlife Trusts. Living Landscapes and Living Seas support large scale conservation of both land and sea, with people and communities at the heart. To support a Living Landscape or a Living Sea, then many elements of society must work together, to value and act for wildlife.

Perhaps you are an individual who has encouraged wildlife into your Essex garden, by building a pond. Or you are a pupil or teacher at a school that has helped restore an Essex heathland or record wildlife along Essex's long coastline. Or you are an Essex business that has changed the way you work, to help welcome wildlife onto your land, to the benefit of the local environment and community. The awards are open to people of all ages. Examples of successful award applicants can be found in the 'Background Information'.

Award criteria:

An award will be presented to those organisations, groups, businesses and individuals who can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Essex Wildlife Trust Panel that they are helping to deliver Living Landscapes or Living Seas because their project or work meets all of the following criteria:
