These two new, annual awards publicly recognise organisations, individuals, businesses and groups in Essex who are helping to deliver Living Landscapes and Living Seas, which are national initiatives, led by The Wildlife Trusts. 

Living Landscapes and Living Seas support large scale conservation of both land and sea, with people and communities at the heart. To support a Living Landscape or a Living Sea, then many elements of society must work together, to value and act for wildlife.

 

Perhaps you are an individual who has encouraged wildlife into your Essex garden, by building a pond. Or you are a pupil or teacher at a school that has helped restore an Essex heathland or record wildlife along Essex's long coastline. Or you are an Essex business that has changed the way you work, to help welcome wildlife onto your land, to the benefit of the local environment and community. The awards are open to people of all ages. Examples of successful award applicants can be found in the 'Background Information'.

 

 

An award will be presented to those organisations, groups, businesses and individuals who can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Essex Wildlife Trust Panel that they are helping to deliver Living Landscapes or Living Seas because their project or work meets all of the following criteria: 

 

1. Good for Wildlife

2. Good for People and the Community

3. Good for the Local Economy

 

 

1. A superb certificate for a Living Landscapes Award or Living Seas Award

2. The stamp of approval, which is a logo that can be used by the award winner on letterhead and publicity material

3. A congratulatory letter 

4. Fact Sheets 

5. Listing on Essex Wildlife Trust's website 

6. Suggestions of how to make the most of your award

Simply complete an application form, where you can explain what you have done to help Essex wildlife, why it meets the three criteria for the award, and why you were inspired to do it.
