Exmoor Ponies Go Green
Essex Wildlife Trust has taken on four Exmoor ponies to help with restoration work of the heathland at Tiptree Heath. The ponies will be used to graze a range of sites belonging to Essex Wildlife Trust to support our grazing regime with our other livestock.

Because of the complexity of the global issue surrounding fishing and the fishing industry Essex Wildlife Trust are currently focusing our efforts on understanding our local fishing industry and how we can work together to help each other understand the issues in our county.

The Winter Wildlife Extravaganza
Now is the time to enjoy the winter wildlife extravaganza! Across Essex, waders and raptors can be seen, many are very distinctive and everyone from the experienced bird watcher to the complete beginner can get outside and enjoy some spectacular wildlife.
Winter Work Parties
Make a difference at one of our nature reserves this winter by joining a work party. It is a great way to get involved with hands on conservation work. We are especially keen to hear from volunteers in the winter months. All ages and abilities welcome.

Royal Visit to Grange Farm and Roding Valley Meadows
Wednesday 23rd November saw a royal visit to Grange Farm and Roding Valley Meadows by HRH the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, at the opening of the Grange Farm Trust Centre. Essex Wildlife Trust has a new office and workshop for Roding within the centre and this is where our Wardens will now be based.
Living Landscapes Partnerships
The Living Landscape initiative is a fantastic opportunity to develop existing partnerships and form new ones with local organisations, businesses and individuals. The development of the Hanningfield Reservoir and Woods Living Landscape has given us the opportunity to develop further partnerships.

What is a Marine Protected area and why do we need them? The most important and exciting aspect of the forthcoming Marine Acts is the creation of a network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) throughout UK seas. Many human activities are damaging or are causing significant disturbance to our marine environment.
Great places to see Raptors
Fingringhoe Wick visitor centre and nature reserve has been voted one of the best places to see Birds of prey by the Wildlife Trusts. Winter can be a great time of year to look for birds of prey. Some species of raptors, such as Marsh and Hen Harriers, may come together to form collective winter roosts.
