Win an original Joel Kirk dormice painting

Thursday 24th September 2015

Painting by Joe Kirk

One of the country’s leading wildlife artists, Joel Kirk, returns to exhibit his work at Belfairs Woodland Centre over the weekend of 17th-18th October – and people have the chance to win one of his highly-prized original paintings.

Essex Wildlife Trust Belfairs Woodland Centre is thrilled to be hosting an exhibition of woodland-themed work by Joel Kirk, one of the country’s leading wildlife artists, over the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2015.

Joel is local to the area. He studied at Southend College of Art, before working with Virginia McKenna for the Born Free Foundation and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. His works ensure he has a worldwide following and his pictures are sold across the globe, often for thousands of pounds. As well as the glamorous big cats, elephants and gorillas, Joel likes to paint wildlife closer to home, including birds and dormice.

To celebrate his exhibition at Belfairs Woodland Centre, Joel has kindly donated a beautiful painting for Essex Wildlife Trust to raffle of dormice. The Belfairs & Daws Heath Living Landscape, of which the Woodland Centre is the focal point, is a stronghold of this captivating and endangered species.

For a chance to own this original artwork, please call the Woodland Centre on 01702 477467 or email Raffle tickets are £1 each or £5 for a book of five; the draw will be made on Sunday 18th October, in the Woodland Centre. Every penny raised will go to support local wildlife charities - half to Essex Wildlife Trust and half to Southend Dormouse Group.
