PondNet Spawn Survey 2017

Our partner organisation the Freshwater Habitats Trust is asking volunteers to record sightings of frog and toad spawn in Essex using a simple recording form and online guide, as part of their PondNet survey programme.
The survey is interested in records from any pond including garden ponds, village ponds and ponds in the wider countryside - this is all important data for PondNet! Records of spawn can be entered on The PondNet Spawn Count 2017 website, which also contains some helpful advice on identifying spawn, tadpoles and adult amphibians.
Anyone can take part in the survey and it’s a great way to begin biological recording whether you’re 8 or 80. The online form is quick and easy to use; you don’t need to register, just a few clicks and you’re done. Sightings will contribute to the national pond database, and data will also be shared with us and with Record Pool, the national database for amphibian and reptile records.
Please also register all your Essex wildlife sightings at our Records Office: http://www.essexwtrecords.org.uk/
