What's on

Our visitor centres organise a regular programme of events and activities for adults and families. The Trust has fourteen Local Groups across the county that organise a programme of walks and talks for local members. Non-members are welcome at these events. Booking is essential for most centre events, so make sure you call or visit the centre in advance to avoid disappointment.

    As I`m sure you are all aware, marine pollution is one of the major challenges facing our seas today. Every year hundreds of species accidentally eat or become entangled in rubbish and nets and if left, plastic debris in coastal areas remains in marine ecosystems for centuries!

    Venue: Fingringhoe Wick Visitor Centre & Nature Reserve

    Come and experience the amazing sound of the Nightingale - one of Essex's great wildlife events. We have approximately 30 - 40 singing males each year and their song fills the air. These guided walks are extremely popular and places are limited, so please book early. Please note the reserve closes at 5 pm as normal during the Nightingale Walk period. Donation requested £6.00 per person.

    Venue: Cranham Marsh Nature Reserve, Nr Upminster

    Work parties at Cranham Marsh are on the last Sunday of every month throughout the the year (and, September to March only, also on the first Wednesday of every month). Meet at at the tool hut on the reserve at 10.00am. a range of tasks including coppicing in the woods, hedgelaying, scrub-bashing, and a bit of brushcutter, fence and ditch work.
