What's on

Our visitor centres organise a regular programme of events and activities for adults and families. The Trust has fourteen Local Groups across the county that organise a programme of walks and talks for local members. Non-members are welcome at these events. Booking is essential for most centre events, so make sure you call or visit the centre in advance to avoid disappointment.

    Venue: Fingringhoe Wick Visitor Centre & Nature Reserve

    Come and experience the amazing sound of the Nightingale - one of Essex's great wildlife events. We have approximately 30 - 40 singing males each year and their song fills the air. These guided walks are extremely popular and places are limited, so please book early. Please note the reserve closes at 5 pm as normal during the Nightingale Walk period. Donation requested £6.00 per person.

Learn how to identify the members of our "Bird Orchestra" with Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap, Garden and Willow Warbler and not forgetting the wonderful Nightingale. Expect many more species and round the mnorning off with a bacon bap and hot drink back at the visitor centre....

    Work parties are held on the first Sunday of each month from 10.00 am - 1.00 pm. Tools and refreshments are provided and younger volunteers welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult. The venue changes according to need, so it is essential to contact the wardens in advance for details.
