About the event
This course will be run within government restrictions and guidelines. If restrictions stop face to face delivery we will work flexibly with you.
This course run by Essex Wildlife Trust Outdoor Learning team will equip you with skills and ongoing support and spread the workload over nine months to complete a portfolio and run a pilot Forest School required to become a qualified Forest School practitioner.
You must have access to a small group and a wooded site to run your initial 6 Forest School sessions. This needs to be the same group over the 6 weeks and the group size must be no larger than 16. Please contact us if you are having difficulty meeting this requirement.
We are offering this course via a mixture of 2hr zoom meetings to cover the theory side of the training followed up with seven face to face days.
Online Zoom meetings each 2 hours (3.30-5.30pm) on January 19th and 26th, February 2nd, 9th and 23rd plus March 2nd and 9th.
Face to face practical days at Abbotts Hall Farm on March 10,11, 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24 9.30am-3pm each day Plus regular Forest School portfolio surgeries and a work based assessment.
This course is designed for those who would like to set up and run a Forest School.
On the level three Forest School course we will support you to:
- Attend all training days which consist of both theory and practical tasks.
- Run a Forest School programme in your chosen setting with a work based assessment from a trainer.
- Complete a portfolio for assessment.
