About the event

Active Essex has funded a regular walking group from November 2021. Walking in green spaces has been proven to benefit physical and mental health alongside building connections with others. Two-to-three-mile sociable walks, lasting approximately 1.5hrs led by our education and community officer followed by some simple wellbeing activities from wildlife identification to natural woodland crafts.

The walks are suitable for all abilities, especially beginners. Ages 18+. Babes in arms and slings welcome. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome. Please note the woodland is not pathed with all-weather terrain therefore those with mobility issues may wish to contact the centre prior regarding suitability. Unfortunately, the site is unsuitable for buggies and wheelchairs at this distance.

Feel free to bring your binoculars if you have any together with a hot drink! Suitable footwear and clothing, we will be heading out in all weathers. The woodland can become very muddy so walking boots or wellingtons advised.

Sessions are free however please do book using the link above so we know to expect you. You can also call the visitor centre on the telephone number below.
