The borough of Castle Point is the part of south-east Essex bordering Southend to the east, Basildon to the west and Rochford to the north. Its two communities are Benfleet which lies on the southern part of the Rayleigh Hills and Canvey Island which lies in the Thames Estuary.
We have about 750 members. Our monthly meetings are combined with the Southend and Rochford Local Group at the Belfairs Woodland Centre on Thursday evenings.
We organise the popular Bluebell Day based in Pound Wood and Tile Wood nature reserves in April each year and host the successful “Bluebell5” 5-mile run in the Little Haven nature reserve in May. We also hold two fundraising restaurant meals each year.
