Action for Wildlife
Guidance on wildlife topics
The Trust gets many telephone calls about wildlife problems, from foxes digging up the garden, through magpies harassing local songbirds, to young birds in distress. There is guidance on this website on the most common problems: see menu on the left.
If you can't find what you want there, call the Trust on 01621 862960 or click here to use our enquiry form.
Wildlife legislation
Our most important wildlife is protected by law, including badgers, reptiles, bats and many birds.
For a summary of current legislation click here, or for guidance on particular animals use the menu on the left.
Wildlife recording
You can help wildlife by recording species in your area or in your local nature reserve. If you want to help in this way call us on 01621 862960 or click here to email, indicating what your interests are and where you live.
Also, check the Essex Field Club website for records they are specially interested in.
Wildlife gardening
You can make a real difference to wildlife by growing the right plants in your garden and by managing it sympathetically.

There is guidance on this website on garden ponds, gardening for bees, making compost and other topics, and also lists of plants that are good for wildlife: see menu left.
