But in order to do this, we need your help.
Essex Wildlife Trust believes that the most effective way to secure our county's future is to work with nature instead of against it, and to manage as much of it as we can for the benefit of people and wildlife. That's why we currently manage 82 nature reserves and several conservation centres on 8000 acres of land in the county, most of which is open to the public free of charge all the year round. We also recognise that children are our future which is why we run an education programme that worked with over 26,000 children last year. This year, we are organising more than 100 wildlife courses for adults and children at our conservation centres.
Our members are the backbone of the Trust, funding our activities, providing volunteers that are vital to our operation, and acting as ambassadors, spreading our message to others. Without their commitment our Trust would not be able to function and Essex wildlife would be under even greater threat than it is now.
