Brentwood & Billericay Talk- Nature Reserves

Posted: Friday 16th November 2018 by Brentwood and Billericay Local Group

A photographic walk through some of the most important nature reserves across the UK.

RSPB's enthusiastic Graham Smee presented some of his great photos from across the UK, each with its own particular story of conservation. In Sctoland the Isle of Mull and Loch Garten were highlighted for their work on the re-introduction of the White Tailed Eagle and Ostprey respectively. Also, some fantastic shots of the thousands upon thousands of birds pushed into the Snettisham Reserve by the incoming Wash tide. Stumpshaw Fen was singled out as reserve developed for a specific species - the Swallowtail Butterfly. The presentation finished with what we can all do in one of the most numerous reserves in the country, our own back garden.
