This course is for anyone who is thinking about or who has just got some hens. The course will cover essential needs, common conditions, treatments and frequently asked questions. A talk by David Petts. The Essex and Kent marshes were, until the beginning of the C20, considered to be very unhealthy. Inhabitants of the marshes suffered from the Ague, or Marsh Fever. The talk describes the problem and discusses whether it was Malaria, and the impact it had on the environment and the local population. The third Tuesday of May, June, July and August. A 5k two lap run around the beautiful woodlands and former plotlands gardens on bridleways and footpaths. Suitable for all abilities but is naturally hilly and on rough terrain. No changing facilities but toilets and results service available. Visitor centre with seating and refreshments. Under 16s welcome if accompanied by an adult. Ample free parking. £2 per person
