About the event

A morning of activities down on the beach and around the Naze Nature Discovery Centre in Walton-on-the-Naze. Join our Wilder Learning team to discover what makes the Naze so special. Delve deep into pre-history on a fossil hunt. Search for the little creatures that call the beach home. Get creative with some beach art. Let off some steam with some beach play, sandcastles, kites and bubble fun! Back at the centre meet our fossil experts, drill your own shell to make a necklace or decoration and relax toasting a marshmallow by the fire (weather permitting).

Car park is managed by TDC, parking charges apply. On arrival, please check in at the centre before heading to the beach.

The event is split between two sites with activities on the beach and at the Naze Discovery Centre. There is a short walk between the two sites. This event is regrettably not fully accessible - the beach is accessed by several flights of steep stairs, there is no access for wheelchairs or pushchairs to the beach. The event will be held outside, please dress appropriately for the weather. Due to the outdoor nature of the event all activities are subject to change. Children must be supervised by their attending adult at all times. Toilets and refreshments are available at the centre.
