Essex Wildlife Trust’s Bedfords Park Nature Discovery Centre is set in the stunning grounds of Bedfords Park, an historic parkland site of 215 acres, owned and managed by the London Borough of Havering. The nature reserve affords fantastic views over London and into Kent. We attract a large number of regular visitors including dog walkers as well as families at the weekend.

We are looking for “people who like people” to assist in our popular cafe, serving refreshments and clearing tables.  You will be comfortable with being on your feet in a busy environment.  You will also support us in our small shop so there are a wide variety of skills involved. We give full training and want all our volunteers to feel part of our team.

Build your confidence and skill sets in new areas for a job change or getting back to work, come along to enjoy meeting and greeting people.

Be part of the team that is looking after a Wilder Essex.

Our centres are not profit making.  All money raised goes directly back into managing conservation across Essex.

When can I volunteer?

We generally have volunteer sessions between 10:00 – 13:00 and 13:00 – 17:00 but if that is not convenient we can chat!

Interested? We would love to hear from you!

To express an interest in volunteering at Bedfords Park please email volunteering@essexwt.org.uk

Please note our minimum age limit for volunteering in our centres is 18 years.

EDI Statement
Essex Wildlife Trust is committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone is welcome. As a conservation charity, we know how important diversity is, both in our natural world and amongst the people who choose to volunteer with us. We want everyone to feel valued and empowered to contribute to our vision of “A county rich in wildlife with people connected to nature”.
