About the event

Following the cessation of farming activity nearly 100 years ago, The Naze has been used for many activities. Many of which are poorly documented, and some not recorded at all. All have influenced the way The Naze appears today. This walk will reveal: Golf Course, Anti-aircraft Battery, Radar Station, Rocket Testing Range, Potential Holiday Camp and finally, a Public Open Space. Also, the work of John Weston with his "gang" of teenagers in creating the John Weston Nature Reserve and planting all the trees is revealed through Gerald's personal recollections.

This walk is a little less than two miles on fairly even terrain. We shall also take in whatever wildlife we may encounter, though sightings cannot be guaranteed.

£7.00 adult, £2.00 for children under 16, all costs go towards the conservation efforts of Essex Wildlife Trust.

For further information and to book please call 01255 679379, pop into the centre or send a message to our team at The Naze centre via Facebook.
