About the event

Join Community Ranger and historic aircraft enthusiast John Attiwell for a Webinar that investigates the historic, ex-military sites of which Essex Wildlife Trust is custodian. John has been fascinated by the military history of Essex since he did his local history project on RAF Hornchurch, where the Ingrebourne Valley, now an EWT reserve, once provided a formidable natural defence. Close to the 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, take an introductory webinar examining the role of Hornchurch in the war, and how it shaped the landscape to this day, and find out what the Balloon Circles at Roding Valley were used for during the London Blitz.

This webinar is free to attend, and at checkout, you’ll have the option to select a free ticket or contribute a donation of your choice. All donations are greatly appreciated and help support our vital conservation work. Thank you for your support!
