About the event

Are you fascinated by fungi and want to learn more? From young explorers to adults, join us as we embark on a fungi adventure at Fingringhoe. Searching for nature's hidden treasures, we will learn about different fungi shapes, colours, textures, and habitats. How many mushrooms will you find?  ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ‚

No prior mushroom knowledge neededโ€”just bring your sense of wonder (and maybe your wellies)! This event is walking-based and involves uneven terrain that may not be suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. This event is suitable for ages 6+

We are outside for the entirety of the event, so please come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky.  Sturdy shoes or wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs, depending on the weather.

The site has mixed, uneven terrain of gravel, sand, grass, and woodland. There are some narrow pathways and steps in certain locations. Through a very kind donation, we have an All-Terrain Mobility Scooter, which can be borrowed, that will access many far reaches of the reserve that are not limited by step access.  Please contact the centre prior to the event if you wish to use the Mobility Scooter.
