We are looking for a Site Manager for our Thameside Nature Discovery Park. The position is on a 12 month fixed-term basis.

Thameside Nature Discovery Park is situated on the Thames Estuary and is fantastic for family days out, bird and ship watching, historical interest and getting away from the hustle and bustle.

The site which was once landfill and has been given back to nature is 120 acres at present and will eventually be 845 acres, it is a tremendous habitat for coastal and wetland wildlife, as well as very important grassland flora and fauna species.  The Nature Discovery Centre offers an opportunity to discover the wildlife within the park whilst enjoying refreshments and a gift shop, run by a friendly team and wonderful volunteers who are passionate about providing fantastic customer service. 

As the Site Manager, the post holder will be responsible for delivering the day-to-day operations covering administrative, retail and food and beverage, overseeing maintenance, inventory, budgets, people management (employee and volunteers), event planning and ensuring commercial targets are met. 

This role is well suited to applicants with prior experience of working in a commercial, visitor attraction environment with F&B, hospitality and retail. We are looking for a site manager who can lead from the front and motivate the team to engage proactively with the audience, manage people, understand health and safety, including food preparation and storing compliance together with event planning. A passion for, or interest in wildlife would be advantageous.

This is a one year fixed-term position, working full-time, five out of seven days between Monday and Sunday all year-round including regular weekends and bank holidays. The starting salary is £32,472.95 per annum and benefits include free life assurance, parking, branded logo clothing and enhanced annual leave and sick pay provisions increasing with length of service.
