Spring Pickers

9 March - 18 March

Clean up our county by picking up 5 pieces of litter every day for 10 days.

A 'rubbish' problem for wildlife

We want Essex to be bursting with vibrant wildflowers, eccentric toadstools and breathtaking birds. Not litter.

In 2024, Spring Pickers collected a whopping 23,850 pieces of litter in just 10 days! This means that our wildlife will be sharing its home with thousands less pieces of litter that could have caused serious harm or injury.

Spring Pickers may be over this year, but there's never a bad time to clean up the county. Head out with your gloves, picker and bag or join your local litter picking group today.

Take a look at our superb 2024 Spring Pickers below.

Use gardening gloves or a litter picker if you can, but always be careful of sharp or dangerous objects. Stay away from needles, electrical items, anything with potentially dangerous chemicals or human waste (like nappies). If you’re not sure what something is, don’t pick it up. If you’ve touched any litter, make sure you wash your hands afterwards.
