About the event

Hamford Water is the setting for one of Arthur Ransome's sequels to Swallows & Amazons: "Secret Water".

It is an important wintering site for many wading birds - the muddy salt marsh being full of invertebrates on which they feed.

Views may be distant so binoculars are a must, but your guide will have a telescope, giving the best views possible.

This walk follows the sea wall, the surface of which is very uneven and may be clogged with vegetation. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the walk.

The actual route taken will be dependent on the condition of the paths.
