About the event

Go wild this Christmas with a day of outdoor festive family fun. Get creative with our natural winter crafts, cook yourself a tasty treat on the campfire, adventure around the reserve as you complete the trail, and enter our colouring competition. The elves have even bought a small gift for everyone on your return.

The elves' sleigh will be parked up for you to sit in and take photos, and we are hoping Billie the Badger will make a special appearance too!

Why not make a day of it? You can do some Christmas shopping while you are here, and there will even be a special offer for participants of a sweet treat in the tearoom. 

FAQs

🌳Will the activities take place outside? 

Yes, activities will be outside. The crafts will take place in our shelter, so it is protected from rain - but still outdoors. 

🌍Where are you based? 

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.

🥜My Child Has Allergies. Will they be able to eat the snack? 

Allergen information is provided by you at the time of booking- we will make sure there is a suitable option for participants who have provided allergen details on their booking.

🥾What should we wear? 

Please dress for being outside - lots of layers. If it has been raining, the paths will be muddy and have lots of puddles, so wellies or boots are advised.

☕Is there a Cafe or shop? 

The visitor centre has a shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream, and light lunches. 

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? 

Assistance dogs are welcome at our events. 

♿Will the event be accessible? 

Our trail follows one of our accessible gravel paths, so it is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. There is also ramp access to the shelter
