About the event

Join us for this family event, where we will make shelters in groups with our tarps and ropes, practice fire lighting with a flint and steel, before cooking some pancakes and waffles over the main fire! (weather permitting)

This is a family event, that is recommended for ages 5+ (they have to be safe near a fire, and younger children may need assistance from adults). All attendees, including both adults and children, will require a ticket to attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

FAQs

📍Where do we meet?

Meet outside the Nature Discovery Centre, which is a short walk from the car park and main entrances.

🥾What should we wear?

Most of our events are fully outdoors, please come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky. Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.

🔥What should we bring? Is food provided?

We will supply all food and you will be able to share any allergens when completing the booking form.

🌍Where are you based?

We are located between Hornchurch, Upminster, and Romford.

🚗Is there parking?

Yes. We have a large free car park.

🚇Can we get to you on public transport?

Yes.  We are less than a mile’s walk from Hornchurch Tube Station (District Line).  We are also served by the 252 and 256 bus routes.

🚻Are there toilets?

Yes. Our Ingrebourne Valley Nature Discovery Centre has toilets (including accessible toilet and baby changing facilities), a shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches.

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog?

Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
