Early Years Foundation Stage
Freedom and time to explore a variety of natural environments provides an infinite learning opportunity during early years. We facilitate learning through nature to meet the EYFS framework and guide children through their exploration of the natural world both at our sites or we can bring workshops to explore wildlife at your site.
Key Stages 1 & 2
Our beautiful nature reserves provide a fantastic learning resource for activities such as orienteering, bush craft and habitat exploration such as pond dipping and minibeast surveys. They can be adapted for a wide range of groups. Alternatively, we can bring workshops to explore the wildlife at your site.
Key Stages 3 and 4
The natural world provides us with the perfect case study for developing skills relating to scientific attitudes, experimental skills and investigations, ecosystems and geographical skills and fieldwork. We can help you to select the perfect site to fit your requirements depending on whether you are investigating coastal processes, studying ecological succession or investigating other aspects of the natural world or human impacts. You can come to our sites or we can travel to your site.
Our sites provide a range of habitats including saltmarsh, coastal areas including coastal realignment, ponds, woodland and meadows. These provide the opportunities for developing skills relating to scientific attitudes, experimental skills and investigations, ecosystems and geographical skills and fieldwork. We provide all equipment and expertise and can help you select the perfect site to fit your requirements depending on whether you are investigating coastal processes, studying ecological succession or investigating other aspects of the natural world or human impacts.
We work with pupils and staff to assess your site for wildlife and to plan and design and plant up areas. We also rejuvenate existing areas. Habitat creation includes living willow structures, orchards, pond, invertebrate habitats, hedgerow, wildflower meadow, sensory garden, wildlife borders, bug hotel, habitat logs, stag beetle pyramid and nectar border. We will leave you with a management plan to look after it.
