About the event

Have a wildlife adventure this half term! A hands-on event for those with a curiosity about these magical birds of prey.

We will begin with a wild walk around the reserve looking for tracks and signs. Can you spot the clues our feathered friends leave behind? Next, we head into our woodland for a fun owl pellet dissection, where we can discover what owls love to eat!

This event is suitable for children aged 5+ and children must always be accompanied by an adult.

FAQs

๐ŸŽซ Who requires a ticket?

This is a family event, and all attendees, including adults and children, will require a ticket to attend.

๐Ÿ“Where do we meet?

Meeting instructions will be sent on booking. Please Park in the Pelican Playground car park and follow the signs to the meeting point just inside the meadow.

๐ŸฅพWhat should we wear?

Most of our events are fully outdoors, and you need to come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky.  Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.

๐Ÿ”ฅWhat should we bring? Is food provided?

Weather permitting, we will have a campfire at the end of the session.  You are welcome to bring something to toast. Ideas include:  crumpets, little malt loaves, toasting tea cakes, sweet waffles, brioche, fruit, e.g., pineapple/mango.  Anything you can warm through on a stick, really โ€“ we provide toasting forks.  No uncooked meat or nuts, please. Marshmallows and popcorn are not recommended for children under the age of 5.

๐ŸŒWhere are you based?

We are located in Chigwell, close to Loughton, Debden, and Epping.
