About the event

This summer holiday, join us to join us as we adventure through Abberton to look for butterflies and bugs. We will use our bug hunting kits to catch some to take a closer look and see who calls the reserve home!  From the fantastic, weird and wonderful, come and find out more about the mighty minibeasts all around us!

Session times: 10:30am-11:30am, 12pm-1pm, 2pm-3pm and 3:30pm-4:30pm (please arrive at beginning of session)

Tickets are £5.64 per child. Advance booking is essential.

FAQs

🌳Will we be outside? 

Yes, we will be outside for the whole session, so please dress appropriately for the outdoors. There is an outdoor shelter to provide some cover.

📍Where do we meet?  

Head to the education shelter on arrival. Directions can be given at the front desk.

🎒What shall I bring? 

We recommend bringing snacks to the session, as children get hungry! Wellies and puddle suits are a great idea if you have them. The children will likely play with the mud kitchen and puddles, so wear something you don't mind getting muddy.

🌍Where are you based? 

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.

🚗 Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Nature Discovery Park. 

👶Can I bring a buggy/pushchair? 

Yes, the shelter has ramp access, and all the routes we may take on our adventure are accessible

🚾Is there a toilet? 

There is access to toilets in the visitor centre, including baby changing in the disabled toilet

☕Is there a café or a shop?

Yes, there is a café selling hot and cold drinks, a selection of sandwiches, cakes, and snacks.
