About the event

Can you build a waterproof shelter with limited materials? Can you find the clues with a compass? Could you identify which plants are good and which are not? Can you find wildlife? Test out your wild adventurer skills through a range of challenges, getting you ready for adventures in nature!

Session times: 1:30pm-3:30pm (please arrive at beginning of session)

Tickets are £8.80 per child. Advance booking is essential.

FAQs

🌳Will we be outside? 

Yes, we will be outside for the whole session, so please dress appropriately for the outdoors. There is an outdoor shelter to provide some cover.

📍Where do we meet?  

Head to the education shelter on arrival. Directions can be given at the front desk.

🎒What shall I bring? 

We recommend bringing snacks to the session, as children get hungry! Wellies and puddle suits are a great idea if you have them. The children will likely play with the mud kitchen and puddles, so wear something you don't mind getting muddy.

🌍Where are you based? 

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.

🚗 Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Nature Discovery Park. 

👶Can I bring a buggy/pushchair? 

Yes, the shelter has ramp access, and all the routes we may take on our adventure are accessible

🚾Is there a toilet? 

There is access to toilets in the visitor centre, including baby changing in the disabled toilet

☕Is there a café or a shop?

Yes, there is a café selling hot and cold drinks, a selection of sandwiches, cakes, and snacks.
