About the event
Walk to the woods with our Wilder Learning Officers to take part in some hands-on bug hunting and enjoy a tasty treat on the fire with us (weather dependent). Then learn how to use a bat detector on a walk to the lake and discover the wildlife that comes out once the sun has gone down! Suitable for 5 years and over.
Session times: 7:30pm-9:30pm
Tickets are £10.88 per child. Advance booking is essential.

📍Where do we meet?
Meet outside the Nature Discovery Centre (please note the centre will only be open for the use of toilets, the café and gift shop will be closed).
🌳Will the activities take place outside?
Yes, we will be outside for the whole session.
🔥What should we bring? Is food provided?
Weather permitting we will have a campfire at the end of the session. You are welcome to bring something to toast. Ideas include: crumpets, little malt loaves, toasting tea cakes, sweet waffles, brioche, fruit, e.g. pineapple/mango. Anything you can warm through on a stick really – we provide toasting forks. No uncooked meat or nuts, please. Marshmallows and popcorn are not recommended for children under the age of 5.

We are located just off the A127 near Basildon.
🚗Is there parking?
Yes. We have a large free car park.
🚇Can we get to you on public transport?
Yes. We are just under 2 miles walk from Laindon Station and under 1 mile walk from the nearest bus stop.
🥾What should we wear?
Please dress for being outside - lots of layers. If it has been raining, the paths will be muddy and have lots of puddles, so wellies or boots are advised.
🚻Are there toilets?
Yes. Our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has toilets (including an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities)
☕Is there a café?
Yes. Our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has toilets, shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches.
🐕🦺Can we bring a dog?
Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
♿Will the event be accessible?
Some areas of the reserve are accessible in a wheelchair. Please have a chat with us to discuss your needs.
