Badger watching evening
Event details
About the event
Step into the fascinating world of one of Britain’s most iconic mammals with an unforgettable badger watching experience at Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Park. As dusk falls, you'll be guided to a specially designed viewing hide overlooking an active badger sett, where you can observe these remarkable animals as they emerge to forage, socialise and go about their nightly routines.
Our volunteers and staff are always happy to answer questions about badger behaviour and conservation, helping you gain a deeper appreciation of these fascinating nocturnal animals. The hide offers a comfortable, discreet viewing point, giving you the best chance to witness natural badger behaviour without disturbing the animals.
This year's badger watching events will take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings throughout the season. Please note that start and finish times are approximate and may vary depending on badger activity and seasonal conditions. Further details, including confirmed timings and arrival information, will be sent to participants approximately two weeks before the event date.
The minimum age for badger-watching participants is 12 years. However, children aged 8–11 years are welcome if the hide is booked for exclusive use and they are able to sit quietly and observe for 2–3 hours. These events are extremely popular, so advance booking is essential.
Please read our event booking terms and conditions before booking an event.
Essential information: As these are evening events, the Nature Discovery Centre will be closed and visitor facilities will not be available. There is also short walk of approximately 200m to the hide from the car park.
