About the event

In an all-new Webinar, John Attiwell, our community ranger, will look into the history of citizen science, and the essential contribution it has made to our understanding of British flora and fauna over the decades since its modern inception in the early 1970s, with schemes like the UKBMS and the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.

Discuss how citizen recorders can help inform management in your community spaces, and how you can contribute to new and exciting discoveries, and how it has been a significant driver of public engagement in nature. Look out for our follow-up event, which explores how to run citizen science events in your community spaces and the wider countryside.

This webinar is free to attend, and at checkout, you’ll have the option to select a free ticket or contribute a donation of your choice. All donations are greatly appreciated and help support our vital conservation work. Thank you for your support!
