About the event

Join in the fun with our W.o.W. Week of Wildlife this May half-term!

A special of our popular Nature Tots session. Get making in the mud kitchen, go hunting for worms, master the giant marble run, read in the quiet corner, and so much more! This session is aimed at children aged 18 months to 5 years.  The group is designed so that you can arrive when your little one is ready to begin joining our outdoor free play. We will have a themed adventure halfway through the session.

This is a one-off Nature Tots session. If you are interested in our regular Nature Tots groups, then find out more information here!

We're really excited to share our W.O.W Week of Wildlife with you this May half-term - find more W.O.W events here! W.O.W Week of Wildlife Events

FAQs

๐ŸŒณWill we be outside?

Yes, we will be outside for the whole session, so please dress appropriately for the outdoors. There is an outdoor shelter to provide some cover.

๐ŸŽ’What shall I bring?

We recommend bringing snacks to the session, as children get hungry! Wellies and puddle suits are a great idea if you have them. The children will likely play with the mud kitchen and puddles, so wear something you don't mind getting muddy.

๐ŸŒWhere are you based?

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.

๐Ÿš— Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Nature Discovery Park.

๐Ÿ”ฅWhat should we bring? Is food provided?

Weather permitting, we will have a campfire at the end of the session.  You are welcome to bring something to toast. Ideas include crumpets, little malt loaves, toasting tea cakes, sweet waffles, brioche, fruit, e.g, pineapple/mango.  Anything you can warm through on a stick, really โ€“ we provide toasting forks.  No uncooked meat or nuts, please. Marshmallows and popcorn are not recommended for children under the age of 5.

๐Ÿ‘ถCan I bring a buggy/pushchair?

Yes, the shelter has ramp access, and all the routes we may take on our adventure are accessible

๐ŸšพIs there a toilet?

There is access to toilets in the visitor centre, including baby changing in the disabled toilet

โ˜•Is there a cafรฉ or a shop?

Yes, there is a cafรฉ selling hot and cold drinks, a selection of sandwiches, cakes, and snacks.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆCan younger or older siblings attend?

For children younger than 18 months, you are welcome to bring them along as well and do not need to book a ticket for them. For older siblings, we are happy to have them - if you think they would like to participate though, please purchase a ticket for them too.
