You will learn a three straw plaiting technique to make a Countryman’s Favour harvest token and move onto making your own Glory Braid corn dolly decorated with dried flowers and ribbon. 

Countryman’s Favours were given as love tokens and also worn by folk to the annual hiring fairs as a badge of their trade and to advertise that they were available to work the fields. 

Glory Braids are traditionally hung on pew ends in churches, especially for special occasions such as weddings. Both of these make beautiful gifts and look lovely as decorations in the home.
