About the event

This summer school holiday, come join us for an exclusive peek at Abberton after hours with this family wild evening out. 

We'll start by exploring who's in the pond with an evening pond dipping session. We'll take a walk to see who's about on the reservoir at dusk from the bird hides. Then it's time to learn to use bat detectors while we see who's about after sunset. 

Session times: 7pm-9pm (please arrive at beginning of session)

Tickets are £10.88 per child, £10.88 per adult. Advance booking is essential.

FAQs

🌳Will we be outside? 

Yes, we will be outside for the whole session, so please dress appropriately for the outdoors. There is an outdoor shelter to provide some cover.

📍Where do we meet?  

Head into the nature discovery centre on arrival.

🌍Where are you based? 

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.

🚗 Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Nature Discovery Park. 

👶Can I bring a buggy/pushchair? 

Yes, the shelter has ramp access, and all the routes we may take on our adventure are accessible

🚾Is there a toilet? 

There is access to toilets in the visitor centre, including baby changing in the disabled toilet

☕Is there a café or a shop?

Please note, the cafe and shop will be closed during the evening session.
