Join us for one of our most popular events! A morning full of fun in nature - where we'll look for mini-beasts, dig in the mud kitchen, build dens, climb trees, make creative crafts, and enjoy a campfire! (weather permitting). Please feel free to bring your own snacks to cook on the campfire ๐ฅ
This event is suitable for children aged 2-9 years old. Advance booking is essential, and children must always be accompanied by an adult.

๐ซ Who needs a ticket?
Children aged 2 years+ require a ticket to attend this event. Siblings under 2 years do not require a ticket to attend.
๐Where do we meet?
Meet on the mound behind the visitor centre.
๐ฅพWhat should we wear?
Most of our events are fully outdoors, and you need to come dressed for the weather. We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky. Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.
๐Where are you based?
We are located in Mid-Essex, local to Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Billericay, Wickford, South Woodham Ferrers, and Basildon.
๐Is there parking?
Yes. We have a large free car park.
๐Can we get to you on public transport?
We are accessible by bus, with bus stops outside the centre and 10 minutes away. We are not accessible by train.
๐ปAre there toilets?
Toilets are located inside the visitor centre.
โIs there a Cafe or shop?
The visitor centre has a shop and cafรฉ serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream, and light lunches.
๐โ๐ฆบCan we bring a dog?
Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
โฟIs it wheelchair accessible?
Our reserve pathways are flat and easy to push wheelchairs, but our activities mound can be slippery, which could make it difficult to push wheelchairs up.
