About the event
Come and enjoy a weekly wildlife focused meander where we’ll take it from the basics and explore a focus each week to kickstart a community of wild wanderers. We welcome all levels of nature knowledge just bring a willingness to learn alongside one another and share. Each session we’ll pause to share a cup of tea/coffee or beverage of your own choice and take a mindful moment to reflect as a community.
Adults and teens are welcome, but under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. This is part of a sequence of events, so you are welcome to choose to attend all, or some of the sessions depending on your preference.
The plan*:
18th June- The wonderful world of plants: We’ll start exploring the wildflowers, trees and more at Tiptree heath and see what we can find out, from fact to folklore.
25th June- Marvellous minibeasts: Unlock your inner child with a classic bug hunt! We’ll explore what bugs and butterflies are around Tiptree heath and discuss why they are so important (and marvellous).
2nd July- Birding basics: We’ll explore the birds of Tiptree Heath, listening out for who’s still singing, seeing what bird behaviour and signs you can spot and learning more, like which bird would make the best romantic partner!
9th July- Sights, sounds and smells in nature: Let’s slow down and start noticing the world around us including birdsong, tracks and signs, smelling the flowers and more.
*Like all the best laid plans, we welcome distractions, tangents and deviations along the way depending what we see and enjoy!
