About the event
Discover what lives in and around the lake through bird watching, lake dipping, and a craft!
Join our Wilder Learning Team with an exciting opportunity to discover what lives in and around the lake. Use our specialist lake dipping equipment to identify what creatures live beneath the surface, as well as using our binoculars and ID sheets to walk around the lake exploring which birds make their home there. Finish up by creating a lake creature-inspired craft to take home with you.
Recommended age 3 years +, and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Session times: 2pm-4pm (please arrive at the beginning of the session)
Tickets are £8.80 per child. Advance booking is essential.

📍Where do we meet?
Meet outside the Nature Discovery Centre
🌳Will the activities take place outside?
Yes, we will be outside for the whole session.
🌍Where are you based?
We are located just off the A127 near Basildon.
🚗Is there parking?
Yes. We have a large free car park.
🚇Can we get to you on public transport?
Yes. We are just under 2 miles walk from Laindon Station and under 1 mile walk from the nearest bus stop.
🥾What should we wear?
Please dress for being outside - lots of layers. If it has been raining, the paths will be muddy and have lots of puddles, so wellies or boots are advised.
🚻Are there toilets?
Yes. Our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has toilets (including an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities)
☕Is there a café?
Yes. Our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has toilets, shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches.
🐕🦺Can we bring a dog?
Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
♿Will the event be accessible?
Some areas of the reserve are accessible in a wheelchair. Please have a chat with us to discuss your needs.
