Enjoy a winter morning in the woods at Thameside! Take part in festive crafts and forest fun, such as den building, woodland decorations or making muddy mince pies and finish by gathering around the campfire* 

*Campfire is weather dependant. Please note: this event does not include a visit from Father Christmas or a present.

FAQs

📍Where do we meet?

This event takes place near the Cottage Car Park for Thameside Nature Discovery Park. This is at the entrance of the site before you go through the gate.

🥾What should we wear?

Most of our events are fully outdoors and you need to come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom) which can get mucky.  Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.

🌍Where are you based?

We are located in Thurrock, between East Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope

🔥What should we bring? Is food provided?

Weather permitting we will have a campfire at the end of the session.  You are welcome to bring something to toast. Ideas include:  crumpets, little malt loaves, toasting tea cakes, sweet waffles, brioche, fruit, e.g. pineapple/mango.  Anything you can warm through on a stick really – we provide toasting forks.  No uncooked meat or nuts, please. Marshmallows and popcorn are not recommended for children under the age of 5.

🚗Is there parking?

Yes. We have a large free car park.

🚻Are there toilets?

Yes. There is a toilet located in the cottage.
