About the event

A monthly group that explores wild spaces and celebrates the changes of the seasons. Connect with nature, each other and your inner child at our monthly group which aims to build a safe and wild community for women. This event may include site walks so sturdy footwear is advised. Learn new skills and enjoy lunch over a campfire. (Please note fires are weather dependant.) Details and ideas of what can be cooked over the fire will be sent prior to the event.

📍Where do we meet? 

Just outside the entrance of the visitor centre.

🥾What should we wear? 

Most of our events are fully outdoors and you need to come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom) which can get mucky.  Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them. 

🔥What should we bring? Is food provided?

Weather permitting we will have a campfire at the end of the session.  You are welcome to bring something to toast. Ideas include:  crumpets, little malt loaves, toasting tea cakes, sweet waffles, brioche, fruit, e.g. pineapple/mango.  Anything you can warm through on a stick really – we provide toasting forks.  No uncooked meat or nuts, please.

🌍Where are you based? 

We are located in Mid-Essex, local to Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Billericay, Wickford, S.W Ferrers and Basildon.

🚗Is there parking? 

Yes. We have a large free car park.

🚇Can we get to you on public transport? 

We are accessible by bus, with bus stops outside the centre and 10 minutes away. We are not accessible by train.

🚻Are there toilets? 

Toilets are located inside the visitor centre. 

Is there a Cafe or shop?

 The visitor centre has a shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches. 

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? 

Assistance dogs are welcome on our events. 

Is it wheelchair accessible? 

Our reserve pathways are flat and easy to push wheelchairs, but our activities mound can be slippery and difficult to push wheelchairs up.
