Langdon offers a variety of events throughout the year, including family forest fun, nature tots sessions, butterfly and wildlife activities, guided foraging walks, forest school, lake exploring adventures, and creative workshops such as needle felting and paper folding. 

Set within the beautiful Langdon hills countryside, our events are a great way to explore  the woodland and grassland habitats, discover wildlife and enjoy time with nature, family and friends. From seasonal nature activities and school holiday events to hands-on workshops and guided walks, there is something for everyone of all ages and interests.

Do I need to book events at Langdon Nature Discovery Centre?

As many of our events have limited spaces, we recommend booking in advance to secure your place. We do have any events which do not require booking and will be clearly stated in the event details. 

Where is Langdon Nature Discovery Centre?

Ingrebourne Valley Nature Discovery Park is located near Basildon in Essex, offering easy access to beautiful woodland, open countryside and wildlife. It's an ideal location for family days in nature close to London.

Are Langdon events suitable for children?

We run a variety of events for all ages and abilities throughout the year. To help you choose the right activity, each event listing will include age recommendations and suitability information. 

What should I wear for outdoor events?

Many of our events are outdoors and therefore recommend wearing suitable clothing for the weather and sturdy footwear. If rain is forecast or the ground is muddy, waterproof clothing and wellington boots are recommended. 

Is parking available?

Yes. Free parking is available at our eco-friendly living car park, although we welcome a suggested donation of £2 per vehicle to help support our conservation work. Donations can be made in with Nature Discovery Centre. Disabled parking is also available. 

Are there toilets and refreshments on site?

Yes. Langdon Nature Discovery Park has toilet facilities, including a wheelchair accessible toilet with baby changing facilities. Our on-site cafe serves a range of hot and cold drinks, freshly baked cakes, light lunches, snacks, and ice-creams, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available.
