National Volunteers' Week

National Volunteers' Week

Volunteer thank you event

Essex Wildlife Trust is celebrating its 2,000 dedicated volunteers.

National Volunteers' Week is held in the first week of June every year. It is a chance to celebrate volunteering across the UK. Here at Essex Wildlife Trust we have 2,000 dedicated volunteers working hard across the county to protect our wildlife and wild places and to educate and inspire others.

Cliff Moore, a volunteer since the early 1980s won the Castle Point Mayor's Award for his outstanding contribution to green spaces in the district. It is great that the impact of his voluntary work in the district has been celebrated, Essex Wildlife Trust is extremely grateful for all he has done over the past four decades.

Last week also saw our annual Volunteer Thank you event, held at Abberton Reservoir Visitor Centre. Everyone enjoyed a buffet and drinks as well as guided walks and talks from our Landscape Conservation team. The weather was glorious for a third year in a row and everyone enjoyed the fabulous views across the reservoir.

Thank you to all of the volunteers tirelessly dedicated to helping wildlife in Essex. If you are interested in volunteering opportunities with Essex Wildlife Trust please visit here.
