About the event
We are welcoming adults in Essex for a chance to explore and learn about our country's incredible bird of prey species. The session will include a presentation and a walk by an experienced presenter with firsthand falconry and public-speaking experience on birds of prey.
This event is suitable for anyone over the age of 16 and for all levels of experience (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring your binoculars if you have them.
FAQs

Meet in the visitor centre.
🥾What should we wear?
Most of our events are fully outdoors, and you need to come dressed for the weather. We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky. Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.
🌍Where are you based?
We are located in Mid-Essex, local to Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Billericay, Wickford, S.W Ferrers, and Basildon.
🚗Is there parking?
Yes. We have a large free car park.
🚇Can we get to you on public transport?
We are accessible by bus, with bus stops outside the centre and 10 minutes away. We are not accessible by train.
🚻Are there toilets?
Toilets are located inside the visitor centre.
☕Is there a Cafe or shop?
The visitor centre has a shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream, and light lunches.
🐕🦺Can we bring a dog?
Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
♿Is it wheelchair accessible?
Our reserve pathways are flat and easy to push wheelchairs, but our activities mound can be slippery and difficult to push wheelchairs up.
