About the event
This summer school holiday, let's brush up on our detective skills and see what animals and clues we can find. Discover Hanningfield with all the gear to help you hunt for bugs, look for wild clues, bird spot and return to base camp. Your session will be a guided walk through the reserve with additional activities.
Session times: 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm (Please arrive at beginning of session)
Tickets are ยฃ8.80 per child. Advance booking is essential.

๐ซ Who needs a ticket?
This is a family event, and each attendee, including adults and children, will require a ticket to attend.
๐Where do we meet?
Meet on the mound behind the visitor centre.
๐ฅพWhat should we wear?
Most of our events are fully outdoors, and you need to come dressed for the weather. We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky. Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.
๐Where are you based?
We are located in Mid-Essex, local to Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Billericay, Wickford, South Woodham Ferrers, and Basildon.
๐Is there parking?
Yes. We have a large free car park.
๐Can we get to you on public transport?
We are accessible by bus, with bus stops outside the centre and 10 minutes away. We are not accessible by train.
๐ปAre there toilets?
Toilets are located inside the visitor centre.
โIs there a Cafe or shop?
The visitor centre has a shop and cafรฉ serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream, and light lunches.
๐โ๐ฆบCan we bring a dog?
Assistance dogs are welcome at our events.
โฟIs it wheelchair accessible?
Our reserve pathways are flat and easy to push wheelchairs, but our activities mound can be slippery, which could make it difficult to push wheelchairs up.
