About the event

One of our most popular events. A marvellous day exploring in nature this summer, where you'll be able to join in with a whole hose of outdoor activities - look for mini beasts, get making in the mud kitchen, build dens, climb trees, be creative with our craft, and enjoy a campfire (weather permitting)! Suitable for children aged 3+ years. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Session times: 2pm-4pm 

Tickets are £8.80 per child. Advance booking is essential.

📍Where do we meet?

Meet outside the Nature Discovery Centre

🌳Will the activities take place outside? 

Yes,  we will be outside for the whole session.

🔥What should we bring? Is food provided?

Weather permitting we will have a campfire at the end of the session.  You are welcome to bring something to toast. Ideas include:  crumpets, little malt loaves, toasting tea cakes, sweet waffles, brioche, fruit, e.g. pineapple/mango.  Anything you can warm through on a stick really – we provide toasting forks.  No uncooked meat or nuts, please. Marshmallows and popcorn are not recommended for children under the age of 5.

🌍Where are you based? 

We are located just off the A127 near Basildon.

🚗Is there parking?    

Yes. We have a large free car park.

🚇Can we get to you on public transport? 

Yes.  We are just under 2 miles walk from Laindon Station and under 1 mile walk from the nearest bus stop. 

🥾What should we wear? 

Please dress for being outside - lots of layers. If it has been raining, the paths will be muddy and have lots of puddles, so wellies or boots are advised.

🚻Are there toilets?

Yes. Our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has toilets (including an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities)

☕Is there a café?

Yes. Our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre has toilets, shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches.

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? 

Assistance dogs are welcome at our events. 

♿Will the event be accessible?

Some areas of the reserve are accessible in a wheelchair. Please have a chat with us to discuss your needs.
