About the event

In relaxed outdoor settings, we run a number of home education groups where children can be themselves and work together to develop social skills and to foster a deep understanding of wildlife and a love of the natural world.  Activities may include den building, woodland crafts, using tools, and fire lighting. 

Events run in blocks and take place weekly, every Monday from 7 September to 19 October (7weeks) 

Upon booking, you will have the option to purchase a 7-week block ticket for the whole term, or a 1-week ticket.

The 1-week ticket option is valid only for the Nature Tots session on 7 September

If you’d like to join us with a 1-week ticket on a different week, no problem - please click on the dates below.

🎫 Who can attend?

This home education group is suitable for children of primary school age (4 years+)

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Do you offer a sibling discount?

Yes. We offer a 10% discount on sibling tickets on block bookings

📍Where do we meet?

Please park in the car park and then head towards the main building (white farmhouse), and we will meet at the picnic benches next to the mini roundabout.

🌳Will the activities take place outside? 

Yes, our home education group takes place outside, and we will be outside for the whole session.

🌍Where are you based? 

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.

🚗Is there parking?    

Yes, we have a large free car park.

🥾 What should we wear?

Please dress for being outside - lots of layers. If it has been raining, the paths will be muddy and have lots of puddles, so wellies or boots are advised.

🚻Are there toilets?   

Yes, we have toilets, but there are no other facilities. 

☕Is there a Cafe or shop? 

There is no a café or a shop at Abbotts Hall, but you are more than welcome to bring snacks with you.

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? 

Assistance dogs are welcome at our events. 

♿Are there accessible pathways? 

The site is mixed terrain, with areas of grass, woodland, concrete and mud. Please contact us if you have any concerns.
