About the event

This Christmas break, unleash the festive excitement as you complete our Christmas craft inside at Abberton. Then pop on your wellies and go exploring round the reserve as you complete our seasonal trail. Don't forget to collect your sticker at the end! A great event to let of steam during the excitement of the season.

FAQs

🎫 Who needs a ticket to attend?

All children ages 2+ will need a ticket to attend. 

📍Where do we meet?

Please head into the visitor centre on arrival.

🌳Will the activities take place outside? 

Crafts will be completed inside our education room, but the shelter will be outside around the reserve so make sure to dress for the weather. 

🌍Where are you based? 

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.

🚗Is there parking?    

Yes, we have a large free car park.

🥾What should we wear? 

Please dress for being outside - lots of layers. If it has been raining, the paths will be muddy and have lots of puddles, so wellies or boots are advised.

🚻Are there toilets?   

Yes, we have toilets, including an accessible toilet, in our Nature Discovery Park                                                                                                  

☕Is there a Cafe or shop? 

The visitor centre has a shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream, and light lunches. 

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? 

Assistance dogs are welcome at our events. 

♿Are there accessible pathways? 

Our trail follows one of our accessible gravel paths, so it is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. There is also ramp access to the shelter
