The woodland is over 1,000 years old and is home to rare and threatened species, historic features, and a Nature Discovery Centre.

Hornchurch Country Park, in the Ingrebourne Valley, offers wildlife, historic RAF heritage, play areas, trails, and a Nature Discovery Centre.

Thameside Nature Discovery Centre will be closing at an earlier time of 3pm on Tuesday 6 October due to planned system updates. The nature reserve will remain open.
