About the event

Through nature journaling, the session will explore phenology- the study of natural seasonal changes. Designed for adults, this short course and presentation will guide you through our woodland, identifying its flora, fauna, and seasonal elements. Our discoveries will be transposed through art, doodles, poetry, creative writing, or how you see fit. You will learn about these discoveries during the session. 

This event is suitable for 16 and over (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).     

FAQs

📍Where do we meet? 

Just outside the entrance of the visitor centre.

🥾What should we wear? 

Most of our events are fully outdoors and you need to come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom) which can get mucky.  Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them. 

🌍Where are you based? 

We are located in Mid-Essex, local to Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Billericay, Wickford, S.W Ferrers and Basildon.

🚗Is there parking? 

Yes. We have a large free car park.

🚇Can we get to you on public transport? 

We are accessible by bus, with bus stops outside the centre and 10 minutes away. We are not accessible by train.

🚻Are there toilets? 

Toilets are located inside the visitor centre. 

Is there a Cafe or shop?

 The visitor centre has a shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches. 

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? 

Assistance dogs are welcome on our events. 

Is it wheelchair accessible? 

Our reserve pathways are flat and easy to push wheelchairs, but our activities mound can be slippery and difficult to push wheelchairs up.
