About the event
Who is at Abberton after we all go home?
A chance to explore the site after hours and see what we can find. Watch the sunset from a bird hide and look for birds. Take the bat detectors out and see if we can hear them echolocating. We will even set up a hot chocolate making station for a mid-session snack!
Suitable for anyone aged 14 and over. However all attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for outdoors. Bringing a torch is recommended.

🌳Will we be outside?
Yes, we will be outside for the whole session, so please dress appropriately for the outdoors. There is an outdoor shelter to provide some cover.
📍Where do we meet?
We will meet outside the visitor centre on arrival. There will be access to toilets, but please note the centre will not be open for purchases.
🎒What shall I bring?
Bringing a torch is recommended.
🌍Where are you based?
We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.
🚗 Is there parking?
Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Nature Discovery Park.
🚾Is there a toilet?
There is access to toilets in the visitor centre, including baby changing in the disabled toilet
☕Is there a café or a shop?
There will be access to toilets, but please note the centre will not be open for purchases.
♿Are there accessible pathways?
Our trail follows one of our accessible gravel paths, so it is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. There is also ramp access to the shelter
